No, Not Brian Setzer.

I've decided to name it Kitty. Kind of an offwhite color, with brown ears and brown on the end of it's tail. No collar, but it appeared the about the same time as the new neighbors in the house behind us. They have a dachsund that they leave outside, also with no collar, so this may be their cat. It's coat appears to be healthy, but I think the cat is either schizophrenic, or it has fleas.

Seems to be a sweet cat, though. Not aloof like most of the worthless shitsacks.

Hmmmm. I wonder if you could treat it with some flea spot, just to help it out some.

I don't know if that's the problem or not.

It seems really friendly, but distracted. It'll meow at you and start moving towards you, then all of a sudden change course and rub itself against the deck railing. If I actually manage to get my hand close enough to pet it, it's more than happy to sit there and let me, but as soon as I stop it starts doing that weird distracted wander.

I'd try some cheap flea spot from the grocery store (couldn't hurt) and just give it time. I've known a lot of cats like that. It's usually connected to some physical ailment.

My cats do that all the time and they are fine. Though the flea stuff might help the kitty...but I will say that it is probably just a odd cat.

My relationship wif Kitty seems to be progressing.

Just went out for a smoke break, (s)he was there. Finally got Kitty to sit in my lap.

Whoever the owner is, fuck them for leaving that cat outside in freezing fucking temperatures. I noticed while it was in my lap that it's shoulderblades are a lot bonier than I thought they were. It has a thick coat, but zero fat on its body.

As much as I hate cats, I feel sorry for Kitty and hope that it survives the winter.

HE was out again last night / this morning. I went out for a smoke, and immediately heard him meowing. As he walked toward the deck, I sat on the stairs and he hopped right into my lap. He hasn't been declawed. I'm probably going to get an infection and die.

But at least it's a sweet cat.

This really sounds like somebody moved and left their cat behind.

He's looking for a home/food/shelter. Give him something to eat, and put out a big cardboard box, or shelter of some kind, with an old blanket inside. This cat needs you.

It's weird. IT just showed up about a week ago, the same time the new neighbors moved in behind us. I suppose it's possible that it belonged to the previous tenants, but they've been gone for a few weeks. And they had a dog, like the new tenants.

Didn't see the cat last night / this morning.

Hope it's okay.

He was probably hiding out in his old yard until the new people moved in, seen it a bunch of times.

Like I said: box, blanket, food. And water. Really important. Cats get thirsty enough, they'll drink things they shouldn't.

Set up some kind of shelter, he'll show up.

Didn't see Kitty over the weekend, but I did see him Monday morning and last night. As it turns out, we did accidentally set up a shelter for him. We have a shed at the end of our driveway, and behind the shed is a stack of old lumber propped up on some cinderblocks. The last time I went outside, I heard Kitty meowing and when I looked around for him, I saw him coming from the direction of the shed, so it would appear that he's taken up residence under the lumber.

I use "him" in the generic gender-neutral sense, as I have no idea of what Kitty's gender is.

Make sure none of it's going to fall on him... no nails sticking up.

And c'mon! Blankets, man! You've got some. It's cold out there.
