The "Stealth" star, along with his manager Jaime Rucker King, will join Marc Platt, who's developing the feature film via Marc Platt Prods, as producers on "The Power of Duff," with Foxx interested in the title role.Foxx would play a TV news anchor who, after the death of his father, begins to pray aloud during broadcasts, and finds his prayers being answered.
This film seems to be a good move for Foxx, who's recent emergence as a "gangster" R&B singer with the release of his first album Unpredictable (which sold over 598,000 copies in its first week) has left many of his mainstream fans shaking their heads.
This "slow" family film will also be a welcome change for Foxx, who reportedly left the set of Miami Vice after gunshots were fired, and refused to return, forcing director Michael Mann to re-write a less dramatic ending.
