The Weinstein's have tapped Bill Lawrence of "Scrubs" fame, to write/direct a prequel to the 1980's "Fletch" films, which starred Chevy Chase in the title role.Lawrence reportedly plans to update his version via the fresh face of "Scrubs" megastar, Zach Braff. He says Braff is "perfect for the role" and he's going to use "all his pull" to make him do it.
It would've been more interesting had Lawrence said: "I'm going to use all my pull to get Chevy Chase to reprise the role," and ten times as difficult. Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough influence to actually get the actor who played the character originally.
Filming is set to begin in April.
